The short version

This is a static website. It has no accounts, no login, no comments and no payment processing. We collect almost nothing, and what we do collect is listed below.

What we collect

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand which pages people read, where they came from, what device they used and roughly where in the world they are. It helps us see which articles are useful and which are not. There is no advertising tracking, no Google Signals, no remarketing and no sale of data.

If you are in the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area or Switzerland, we ask first: a small notice at the bottom of the page lets you accept or decline on your first visit. Decline, and no analytics cookie is set; Google then receives only anonymous, cookieless pings that cannot be tied to you. Everywhere else, where the law does not require asking, analytics runs from your first page and Google sets a cookie that recognises your browser on later visits.

Wherever you are, you can switch it off for this browser with one click, here:

Your choice is remembered in your browser. Google describes what it collects in its privacy policy, and offers a browser add-on that blocks Analytics everywhere.

We also measure page speed. Vercel, which hosts the site, records how quickly each page loads in your browser through its Speed Insights feature. It reports load timings and the page address. It sets no cookie and does not identify you, and Vercel publishes what it collects in its privacy policy. If that ever changes, this page changes first.

We keep two tallies of our own. Each page, when it loads, tells our server which page it is and which site sent you, and the server adds one to that page’s count for the day and, on the first page of a visit, one to a count for the source (Google, YouTube, X, Substack, direct, or other). The address of the referring page is read for that purpose and not stored. And when you click a button that leads to 4 Pillar Trading, the link passes through our server, which adds one to a tally for that button, that page and that day, then sends you on. Both tallies are numbers only. They record no IP address, no browser details and no cookie, and they cannot be traced back to you. We use them to see how many visits each page gets and how many of those lead to a click.

The site does run a small amount of JavaScript of its own, for the sticky header and for the fade as sections scroll into view. It sends nothing anywhere and stores nothing about you.

Contact messages

If you email us, we hold that email.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell, rent or share your data
  • We do not run advertising or advertising cookies
  • We do not use tracking pixels from social networks
  • We do not set cookies of our own

Fonts

The two typefaces on this site, Archivo and IBM Plex Mono, are served from this site’s own address. Your browser does not contact Google or any other font service to display a page.

The newsletter

If you subscribe to the weekly newsletter, your email address is sent to MailerLite, the service that stores the list and delivers each issue, under MailerLite’s privacy policy. Your address is only added once you confirm it from the email MailerLite sends. We use the address to send the weekly newsletter and occasional related emails from The 4 Pillar Trader, such as subscriber offers or a notable update. We never sell or share it, and nobody else mails it. Every email carries an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes your address from the list.

When you click an affiliate link, you leave this site and 4 Pillar Trading’s own site and its payment processor take over. Their privacy practices are theirs, not ours, and you should read them.

We may append a channel tag to the link so we can see which page a referral came from. That tag identifies the page, not you.

How long we keep things

  • Contact emails: as long as needed to deal with the matter
  • Newsletter addresses: until you unsubscribe

Your choices

You can browse this site without submitting anything. If you have sent us something and want it removed, ask through the contact page and we will delete it.

Depending on where you live you may have rights to access, correct, or erase personal data we hold, or to object to its processing. Exercise them through the contact page.

Children

This site is not intended for anyone under 18.
