4 Pillar Trading Review

4 Pillar Trading is a mentor-led education membership built around macro, fundamentals, equity options and portfolio risk. It is not a signal service and does not manage money. This review covers what is verified, what is our opinion, and what we still cannot tell you.

Programme launched 12 August 2026. Review last updated 26 October 2026.

1. Review summary

The short version: this is a process-teaching membership, not a picks service. If you want someone to tell you what to buy, stop reading. It is the wrong product and you will resent paying for it. If you want a framework that connects a macro view to a company thesis to an options structure to a position size, that is precisely what it is built to do.

Overall verdict

4 Pillar Trading is for retail traders who want to build a more complete and repeatable trading process across macro, company fundamentals, options, trade construction and portfolio risk management. Its value is not a library of disconnected pre-recorded courses. It is ongoing access to experienced mentors, live education and a community working through the market in real time.

2. What 4 Pillar Trading is

4 Pillar Trading is a mentor-led trading education programme built around four connected areas of professional trading: macro analysis, fundamental analysis, options and strategy selection, and portfolio and risk management.

Members take part in live, mentor-led sessions, with every session recorded for later viewing. The programme also includes a private community where trading ideas can be shared, reviewed and openly challenged.

It is not a signal service. The focus is on helping retail traders develop the knowledge, process and risk discipline needed to make better-informed trading decisions independently.

It launched on 12 August 2026, which is the single most important fact on this page. Everything else depends on time that has not passed yet: how good the teaching is, whether members stick with it, whether the community becomes useful. Anyone reviewing this programme confidently in either direction is telling you about their incentives rather than the product.

3. How the membership works

You pay a trial price for full access, and after the trial it converts to a monthly subscription. Cancellation is one click through Stripe. Inside, you get live mentor-led sessions on a recurring cycle, recordings of those sessions, and a members-only community where trade ideas are reviewed publicly and closed trades are taken apart.

There is no course to finish. That is a structural point worth understanding before you join: a video library has an end, and a live membership does not. The value model is ongoing access to people, which means the product only works if you keep turning up. That is a strength if you will, and an expensive subscription if you will not.

  • 20 mentor-led live sessions per cycle
  • Recordings available to members
  • Members-only community with trade-idea review and post-trade analysis
  • Stated position of no upsells and no signal service
  • A cycle runs five weeks, so roughly four live sessions a week

4. The four pillars

The structure is the product. Four disciplines, taught as a sequence that hands off from one to the next rather than as four separate courses sold together.

  1. 1. Macro

Published scope: A top-down view of the US, Europe and China; leading, coincident and lagging indicators; identifying sector outperformance over a three to four month horizon.

Most retail traders start with a chart and never ask why the market is behaving the way it is. Macro is what turns a stock pick into a positioned bet.

  2. 2. Fundamentals

Published scope: Financial statement interpretation, entry and exit timing, price targets, business model and competitive moat assessment, and long and short idea generation.

Fundamental analysis taught for investing tells you what to own. Taught for trading, it tells you when, and what the other side of the trade is.

  3. 3. Options and Strategies

Published scope: Interpreting options pricing, structuring trades to match a market view, and position management on a risk-first framework.

Options are where a correct view most often still loses money. Structure, expiry and volatility decide the outcome as much as direction does.

  4. 4. Portfolio and Risk Management

Published scope: Portfolio risk management, including position sizing and expiry management, integrating the other three pillars.

Selection decides how much you make. Sizing decides whether you are still trading in two years to find out.

The thing this structure gets right is that it treats risk as an integrating layer rather than a module. Most retail education teaches setups and bolts a position-sizing lesson on at the end. Putting portfolio construction at the top of the hierarchy is how professional desks actually work.

6. Educational content quality

I have been a member of 4 Pillar Trading since the programme launched in August. However, my experience with the mentors goes back further, having previously completed a mentoring programme with Anthony Iser and Edward Shek.

The educational content is one of the programme's strongest features. It is aimed primarily at beginner and intermediate retail traders and follows a structured 20-session cycle. Rather than presenting disconnected lessons, the programme builds a more complete trading process around macro analysis, fundamental research, options and strategies, and portfolio and risk management.

The quality and depth of the teaching have been particularly impressive. The mentors regularly cover subjects at a level I have not found on many other retail trading education platforms. Importantly, they do more than present their market views. They explain the reasoning, evidence and process behind their conclusions, using real markets, companies and investment cases to demonstrate how the analysis works in practice.

One standout example was Anil's session, Memory Semiconductors: Structure, Cycle, and the Investment Case. It went beyond a basic overview of the sector and provided valuable insight into the structure of the memory semiconductor industry, its cyclical characteristics and how to assess the investment case.

The content can be detailed, and members will need to engage with the sessions and apply what they learn. However, that depth is also what makes the education valuable. It is designed to help retail traders develop a more rounded and systematic process, rather than simply follow trade ideas or copy another person's conclusions.

It is still early in the programme, and I will continue updating this review as the full cycle develops. Based on the content delivered so far, however, the educational quality has exceeded my expectations.

7. Weekly live sessions

4 Pillar Trading publishes the Foundation programme as 20 mentor-led live sessions delivered over a five-week cycle, which works out at roughly four a week.

What I have seen so far is one to two sessions a week. Every one of them is recorded, so a session you cannot attend live is a session you watch later. I will keep updating this as more of the cycle runs.

8. Session recordings

Every live session is recorded and made available to members, so you can catch up if you cannot attend in real time.

Recordings remain accessible for approximately 90 days, with each session displaying its own expiry date. This gives members enough time to manage a busy schedule or catch up after falling behind, although it is not intended to be a permanent content library.

The public offer page currently states that recordings are available for one week, but inside the member platform, access appears to last around 90 days.

We are awaiting confirmation on whether recordings are searchable or indexed, and whether access continues after cancelling a membership. Awaiting confirmation

9. Community experience

The 4 Pillar Trading community is built around helping you develop your own trading decisions. It is an educational environment, not a signal service. Nobody is there to tell you what to buy. Instead, experienced former institutional traders and retail traders share ideas, explain their reasoning and challenge each other's thinking.

The conversation starts before the market opens. A daily news thread covers overnight market moves, the main economic events and what to watch that day, from employment data and Fed speakers to oil, copper and the US dollar. Mentors contribute across different time zones, keeping the discussion active through the London, New York and Australian trading day. On major economic release days, a single thread can attract more than a hundred replies.

Trade ideas follow a clear structure. Members outline what they want to buy or sell, the current price, their target, what would prove the idea wrong, their timeframe and a conviction rating out of five. They also explain the company, the potential catalyst and the supporting financial data. You can create an idea using the Ideas Journal in your dashboard and share it directly with the community.

That detail gives other members something useful to assess. Feedback might question the earnings assumptions, highlight an unfavourable balance between risk and potential reward, or suggest a different options strategy. Mentors also help refine how a trade could be executed, whether that means using a later expiry, entering gradually or waiting for a catalyst.

The discussions cover the full trading process. Categories include Macro and Markets, Buy Ideas, Sell Ideas, Options and Execution, Risk Management, Charts and Market Action, and Quick Takes for earnings and announcements. A dedicated risk management discussion covers position sizing, downside protection, price gaps and adjusting a portfolio when trades move against you.

Learning continues after the live sessions. Each Foundation Session has a discussion thread covering its topic, such as economic indicators, interest rates or the yield curve. If a question comes to you two days later, you have somewhere to ask it and receive a mentor's response.

Webinar presentations are also shared afterwards, with further discussion underneath. Following the copper webinar, for example, members compared earnings forecasts with the presentation, debated possible entry points and developed a related trade idea by the next morning. It showed how a lesson could lead into practical research and discussion.

There is space for beginners, too. A dedicated basic questions thread, a quick start guide and an introductions area help new members get involved. Members are welcomed by name, often by a mentor, and there is a casual pub thread for conversations beyond trading.

The main community is available to all members, with Established and advanced discussion channels for Established members. Webinar recordings and platform tools support the discussions alongside it.

The mentors contribute daily, giving you regular opportunities to see how experienced traders interpret economic news, assess an idea, size a position and respond when their view changes.

For me, that is the main value: seeing the reasoning behind trading decisions and using those discussions to improve my own process.

10. Beginner suitability

Yes, with a realistic expectation around the learning curve.

The programme is suitable for beginners because it gives them a structured process to follow, rather than leaving them to piece together random setups and indicators.

That said, some areas will be new and may take time to absorb. Financial statements, options pricing and portfolio construction are not subjects most people understand immediately. If you are completely new to trading, you may need to rewatch recordings, ask questions and do some work between sessions.

You do not need to already know how to trade options or analyse company accounts to join. But if terms like call options, cash flow statements and position sizing are completely unfamiliar, expect the first cycle to be more about building confidence and foundations than immediately acting on trade ideas.

11. Experienced-trader suitability

Yes, if you want to refine your process and learn alongside serious traders.

Experienced traders are likely to get the most value from the risk and portfolio material, options and strategy sessions, and the deeper discussion around market themes and sector rotation. It can help strengthen how you assess where capital is moving, which areas of the market are leading or weakening, and how that may affect trade selection.

If you already have a clear macro framework, size positions from invalidation levels, manage portfolio exposure and deliberately choose option structures, there may be less completely new material for you.

The value then becomes the mentor access, having your thinking challenged by traders with institutional experience, and following a community of like-minded traders working through the same market environment. For many experienced traders, that outside perspective and shared market discussion is what makes the membership worthwhile.

13. Strengths

What you gain

  • A connected trading process Learn how macro, fundamentals, trade construction and portfolio risk work together, rather than treating them as separate subjects.
  • Direct access to experienced mentors Ask questions, test your reasoning and have weaknesses in your thesis challenged by traders with institutional experience.
  • More structured trade decisions Develop a repeatable process for researching an opportunity, selecting a strategy, sizing the position and defining when the thesis has failed.
  • Live education with recorded access Attend sessions live or watch every recording in your own time when work, family or other commitments get in the way.
  • A stronger understanding of options and risk Learn how to select an appropriate structure, strike and expiry while considering position size, correlation and total portfolio exposure.
  • A community built around learning See trade ideas discussed and challenged openly, helping you understand how other traders think before committing capital.

What it takes

  • Consistent participation You will need to make time for the sessions, recordings and ongoing application of what you learn.
  • Patience and practice Knowledge can be taught quickly, but developing sound judgement and discipline takes time.
  • Personal responsibility The mentors can challenge your thinking, but you remain responsible for every trade and investment decision.
  • Some foundational knowledge Parts of the programme may feel advanced if you are completely new to markets, options or basic trading terminology.
  • An ongoing commitment This is a recurring membership designed around continued education, rather than a one-off course.
  • Acceptance of trading risk Education can improve your process and risk management, but it cannot guarantee profits or remove the possibility of losses.

14. Limitations

Three limitations are especially important because they are easy to overlook before joining.

The cost is ongoing, but the benefit is uncertain. Established costs US$299 per month, or US$2,990 per year, and Foundation US$199 a month. Through the founding offer linked on this site, the first year costs US$2,392. The cost is certain. The value you receive is not, and no education programme can guarantee results.

You get more value by participating. This is not simply a library of content that you can watch whenever you want. Members who attend sessions, ask questions and submit trade ideas will get a very different experience from members who remain passive, even though both pay the same price.

The programme is new. It launched in August 2026 and does not yet have a long member track record or independent review history. Joining early may have advantages, but it is still unproven. You need to decide whether that uncertainty is worth the cost.

15. Who should join

And, equally, who should not. Read the right-hand column first: ruling yourself out costs nothing and saves you the better part of $2,400 in year one.

4 Pillar Trading may suit you if:

  • You trade US stocks or options
  • You understand basic trading terminology
  • You want a structured process
  • You value experienced mentor access
  • You want to improve your portfolio construction
  • You are prepared to study and review your decisions
  • You want education rather than guaranteed trade signals

It may not suit you if:

  • You want guaranteed profits
  • You only want buy and sell alerts
  • You expect somebody else to manage your money
  • You have no time to attend or review sessions
  • You want a completely passive service
  • You are looking for immediate results
  • You are unwilling to accept trading risk

16. Who should not join

One addition to the red column above, which applies to any live programme: if you cannot reliably attend sessions in the timezone they run, do not join yet. Confirm the schedule first. A live membership consumed entirely as recordings is a worse product at the same price.

17. Overall value

The comparison worth making is not against other courses. It is against what this kind of money buys you elsewhere, and against doing nothing.

Against a self-paced video library: this costs more and requires more, and gives you something a library cannot: people who will look at your specific idea and tell you what is wrong with it. Against a signal service: it is a different product entirely, and if signals are what you want, this will disappoint you at four times the price. Against doing nothing: the honest answer depends on whether your current process has a identifiable gap in one of the four pillars. If it does, and you will do the work, the arithmetic is reasonable. If your process is fine and you are shopping for reassurance, it is not.

The trial exists for exactly this reason and is the sensible way to answer the question for yourself, provided you confirm the trial length and the cancellation date before you pay, because we cannot confirm them for you.

18. Final verdict

Based on what has been published and what we have seen inside the programme, the structure is strong, the scope is clear, and the mentors have relevant institutional experience. It is also refreshingly clear that this is education, not a signal service. Members are expected to develop their own thinking, not wait to be told what to buy or sell.

There are still important unknowns. The programme is new, some commercial details have been published inconsistently, and the things that matter most over time, including teaching quality, session usefulness and community value, need a longer track record before they can be judged properly.

For now, the most accurate verdict is promising but unproven. We have not given it a score, and will not until there is enough real member experience to score it honestly.

19. Current offer
